ABOUT CAYENNE TEETER
Mezzo
Cayenne Teeter, mezzo, is a Manhattan School of Music Alumni from Hartland Michigan. Studying with Ashley Putnam, she has performed scenes from The Barber of Seville (Rosina), and Britten’s Midsummer Night’s Dream (Hermia). She enjoyed 2 summers with the Janiec Opera Company, where she performed the roles of Flora in Verdi’s La Traviata, and Jenny in Kurt Weil’s The Threepenny Opera. Her awards include Opera Index’s Encouragement Award, and was a Met Opera Laffont Competition District Winner. Cayenne looks forward to being an Apprentice Artist with the Des Moines Metro Opera this summer, where she will play the role of Cricket in Janacek’s The Cunning Little Vixen and the chorus of Wagner’s The Flying Dutchman.
